Since October 7 and the outbreak of the Swords of Iron War, Israel’s healthcare system has been dealing with an increase in war-related injuries. Should a war or mass casualty situation on Israel”s northern border break out, the FUEH is ready.
Following a recent visit by Alistair Bunkall, Sky News’ Middle East correspondent, which included a tour of the FUEH with Professor Michael Halberthal, Rambam’s general director, Sky reported on the underground hospital, the national blood storage vault, and Israel”s emergency response service that has also established an operations room in the underground facility.
During Sky’s visit, air raid sirens sounded on the northern border and Professor Halberthal explained how an emergency situation would be handled, ensuring little has been left to chance.
