THE JOSEPH FISHMAN ONCOLOGY CENTER

THE MOST EFFECTIVE APPROACHES TO CANCER TREATMENT

The Joseph Fishman Oncology Center opened its doors on June 30, 2016, and is internationally recognized for its clinical excellence. A premier cancer treatment and research institution, it is the largest facility in Northern Israel, employing the latest medical advances for the most effective approaches to treatment. The Oncology Center is certified by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) as an integrated multidisciplinary center for cancer treatment.

Expanding our medical center’s accelerator facilities using cutting-edge technology has been a significant milestone in providing quality oncology treatment services.

Existing Facilities

Ground Floor

The Joseph Fishman Oncology Center at Rambam is home to the Danny & Cathy Rosenkranz Oncology/Hematology Emergency Room on the ground floor. The ER offers a superior environment in which immunocompromised cancer patients receive an immediate response, oncology expertise, and the comprehensive care they require, separate from the hospital’s general ER.

First Floor

The Radiotherapy Institute incorporates radiotherapy clinics, such as a highly specialized brachytherapy clinic and a CT Simulation Unit. The demand for cancer therapies like brachytherapy has increased significantly over the years. This specialized clinic ensures shorter treatment wait times.

Before radiation therapy commences, the radiation therapy team in the Treatment Planning Center individualizes each patient’s treatment.

Second Floor

Rambam’s oncologists and hematologists are dedicated to improving their understanding of cancer prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatments while reducing long-term side effects. On the second and seventh floors of the Oncology Center, in the Forman-Sohnis Clinical Cancer Research Center, need-driven cancer research is conducted with the proper authorizations and controls to ensure patient safety.

Research reveals that complementary and alternative therapies can be very effective in combating cancer and its side effects. Guided by this philosophy, integrative oncology therapies are offered at the Tal Center—Mair House for Integrative Oncology Medicine.

Third Floor

The Baruch Hershkovitz Outpatient Unit offers a multidisciplinary team approach to cancer care. Patients coming to the outpatient center are seen by the appropriate caregivers from the various disciplines on the same hospital floor on the same day.

Fourth Floor

The patient’s first visit to Rambam’s Radiotherapy Institute, whether as an outpatient or inpatient, takes place in the Radiation Oncology Clinic, which provides supportive resources before treatment. An expert physician examines and evaluates the patient. The patient and family will be given knowledge of the disease and its treatment. All radiation treatment plans are individualized. Simulation and treatment planning follow.

Fifth Floor

The Department of Inpatient Chemotherapy provides the full complement of chemotherapy options and a range of other supportive therapies and emergency services for chemotherapy patients around the clock.

Sixth Floor

The Department of Inpatient Radiotherapy, typically provides radiation therapy on an outpatient basis. Under certain circumstances, inpatient admission is medically necessary. Patients are cared for in fourteen single-, double-, or triple-occupancy rooms of the highest standard.

Seventh Floor

The Forman-Sohnis Clinical Cancer Research Center on the seventh floor is part of  the research center on the second floor. Groundbreaking medical solutions are being formulated in the Uzia Galil Innovation Center and the Liora & Levy Gerzberg Family Foundation Innovation Laboratory.
